Biography

He was the son of Andrew McCreight Creery. He was the father of Lieutenant Timothy William Hulbert Creery RCN(R) and Captain Raymond Arbuthnot Bourchier Creery RCN. He rescued General General Georges P. Vanier, Canadian Ambassador to France, from the coast of France in 1940. H.M.C.S. Fraser was sunk in collision with H.M.S. Calcutta in the Gironde River estuary 25/06/1940. He co-signed the formal Instrument of Surrender of Hong Kong by Japan on behalf of Canada.
