He joined the British Red Cross in 1914 and served as an orderly in France where he was gassed. He emigrated to Victoria BC. He was released and joined Central Canada Airways in Kenora ON in 1926 as an Air Engineer. In 1928 he joined B.C. Airways in Victoria BC. In 1930 he joined Alaska Washington Airways of B.C. |

He was appointed as a Boy Mechanic RNAS 1917. He transferred to the RAF in 1918. He served in the RAF in Egypt, Palestine and Africa. He was released in 1922. In 1922 he joined the Canadian Air Force as a Corporal. He served in Jericho Beach, Victoria Beach, The Pas, Cumberland House and Norway House. |
