Military Service
He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RN. (Transferred to RNAS 1914). He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS 1914. He was appointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS. He was appointed as a Flight Lieutenant RNAS. He was appointed as a Wing Commander RNAS. (Transferred to RAF 1918). He was appointed as a Lieutenant Colonel RAF, (He was on loan from the RAF to RCN 1918). He served as the Director of the Royal Canadian Naval Air Service 1919. He was the DSO for sinking the German cruiser SMS Konigsberg in the delta of the Rufiji River in German East Africa 11/07/1915. He was appointed as a Group Captain RAF 1932.
