Military Service

He was appointed as an Officer Cadet RN (With seniority dated 01/09/1949). He served in Royal Naval College Dartmouth for Training 1949. He was appointed as a Midshipman (E) RN (With seniority dated 01/09/1950). He served in H.M.S. Vengeance 1950. He served in Royal Naval Engineering College 1951. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (E) (A/E) RN 1953. He served in H.M.S. Glasgow. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (E) (A/E) RN. He served in Royal Naval Engineering College 1954. He served in RNAS Lossiemouth 1955. (He served on Loan to RCN 03/1956). He served in HMCS Magnificent as Senior Watchkeeper (M/E) 1956. He served in HMCS Stadacona for Small Boat Maintenance 1956. He served in HMCS Shearwater as Deputy to Senior Engineer 1957. (He was returned to RN for service). He served in RNAS Yeovilton and H.M.S. Eagle for 894 RN Squadron as Air Engineering Officer 1958.
