Biography
He moved to Vancouver at a young age where he was raised and lived until retirement. He earned a BComm from UBC in 1957, and worked for most of his career with BC Hydro where he rose to the position of Community Relations Manager retiring in 1987.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 24/01/1950). He served in HMCS Discovery for UBC UNTD 1949-1951. He served in HMCS Shearwater for Observer Training 1950. (He was Awarded Observer Wings 1952.) He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (O) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/05/1952) (He was retired from Naval Reserve 1955.)

Bill Clearihue reports that "He was at UBC in 1951, but with no graduation of any sort, then or in 1952. He reappears in UBC from 1953 in Commerce, graduating in 1957, almost as if he was starting over."
