He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1959. He served in HMCS Hunter for UNTD 1958-1960. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He served in HMCS Hunter. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (NR). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (NR). He was appointed as a Commander (NR). He served in HMCS Hunter as Commanding Officer 1974-77. (He was released.)
