Biography |

He graduated with a BA from Aacadia University and an LLB from Dalhousie. He practiced law in Calgary AB. He moved to Winnipeg and was co-founder and first publisher of the Winnipeg Sun there in 1980. He has for decades been involved in a major Refugee resettlement outfit in Winnipeg and on May 14, 2014 was inducted into the Order of Manitoba, for that work. |

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1952. In 1952 he served in HMCS Scotian (Acadia University) for UNTD. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/05/1957). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/01/1964). In 1964 he served in HMCS Tecumseh. (He was released.) (He was qualified for communications duties and with a Watchkeeping Certificate.) |
