(Short Service Appointment 19/04/1950), He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 19/04/1950). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 19/04/1950). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (O) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 31/07/1952). (Selected for permanent commission). He served in HMCS Stadacona. He served in NHQ for Special Duty for Pilot Training at RCAF Station Saskatoon 1956. (He was released 16/01/1958.)
