His next-of-kin, was his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Dobbyn, South Wellington P.O. B.C. He came to Canada on the S.S. Teutonic, arriving on March 12, 1912 in Halifax, NS. He was a miner before his army service. |

He served as a Private (B.C. Regiment) in the 2nd Depot Battalion. (Transferred to RNCVR 19/09/1918). He was appointed as a Stoker RNCVR. He served in HMCS Galiano 1918. (He was lost in HMCS Galiano in a storm off Vancouver Island BC October 30, 1918). |
