Biography
He was a lumberman at the time of his recruitment into the navy. After his naval service he worked with the Department of National Defence until 1945 as a Store Houseman, at Fort Clarence Naval Armament Supply Depot, Halifax, N.S.
 
Military Service
He enlisted on Aug. 5, 1914, at Esquimalt, B.C. He was promoted to Petty Officer RNCVR. He served in HMCS Niobe. He served in HMCS Acadia. (He was discharged in May 1921 at Halifax, N.S.).

His favourite hobby: bicycle racing and was one of the top racers with the Halifax Wanderers bicycle team.
