He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1949. He served in HMCS Stadacona for Training 1949-52. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) 1952c. (He was released.)
