Biography
After his naval service he flew for a number of commercial operators across Canada, Greenland, Texas and Louisiana. Joined the Department of Transport Aviation Division and flew Coast Guard helicopters in Ontario, Québec and the Arctic 1970. Appointed Coast Guard District Manager for Western Arctic at Hay River NT 1971. Retired 01/12/1988.

He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RCN (With seniority dated 01/02/1947). He served in HMCS Naden as Supply Assistant 1947. He was appointed as an Officer Candidate 1947. He served in HMCS Magnificent and HMCS Shearwater for 825 Squadron 1950. He served in HMCS Shearwater and HMCS Magnificent for 826 Squadron 1950. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (O) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 05/11/1951). He served in HMCS Shearwater as Operations Officer 1951. He served in HMCS Shearwater for 880 Squadron 1953. He served in HMCS Magnificent for 881 Squadron 1953. He served in HMCS Shearwater for VH-21 Squadron For Helicopter Training 1954. He served in RCAF Claresholm in 3 FTS for Fixed-wing Pilot Training 1955. Awarded wings 06/04/1956. He served in HMCS Shearwater for HU-21 Squadron 1956. He served in HMCS Shearwater and HMCS Magnificent For Duty With HS-50 Squadron 1956. (He was released 28/11/1957.)
