(Short Service Appointment). He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1964). He served in HMCS Venture (Officer Training Establishment) 1964. He served in HMCS Sussexvale for Sea Training 1965. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN RCN (With seniority dated 03/07/1966). He served in RCAF Portage-la-Prairie for Advanced Flying Training 1965. He served in RCAF Rivers for Basic Helicopter Training 1966. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 03/07/1966). He served in HMCS Shearwater and HMCS Venture and HMCS Provider for HU-21 Squadron 1966. He served in HMCS Shearwater for HS-50 Squadron 1969. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN. (He was released 1971.)
