Biography
He was employed as a Senior Lecturer in War Studies at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, 1973-1977. In 1973 he began a full-time career in journalism. He writes a column on international affairs which is published in over 175 papers in at least 45 countries.

 

Military Service

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1959. He served in HMCS Cabot for UNTD 1959. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He served in HMCS Cabot 1963. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R). He served in HMCS Star. In 1965 he served as a Term Lieutenant. (He was released.) (He states that he has served in the Canadian, American, and British naval reserves. He was in the RNR and USNR while doing post-grad work in both countries.)
