He came from Nelson BC at the time of his recruitment.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Able-Seaman RNCVR. He served in HMCS Galiano 1918. (He was lost in HMCS Galiano in a storm off Vancouver Island BC 31/10/1918 - his was the only body recovered, picked up by the trawler G.F. Foster - about 28 miles off Cape St. James).

(He was lost in HMCS Galiano in a storm off Vancouver Island BC on October 30, 1918). His body was picked up at sea by the trawler G. Foster and brought to Vancouver BC by the Cheloshin. His body was sent to his family for burial.
