Biography
He was the chief operator on the Marconi trans-Atlantic service. He came to Canada at the behest of the Marconi Company in 1904 to oversee the building of the Marconi wireless stations in Nova Scotia. In 1909 he left Marconi and joined the Department of Marine and Fisheries and became the Dominion's Superintendent of Wireless Stations in Ottawa, succeeding Cecil Doutre. He made an inspection trip to the west coast in July of 1909. In 1910 (before the First World War.) was the chief operator on the Marconi trans-Atlantic service. Military Service
He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RNCVR. In 1917-1918 he served in HMCS Niobe as Additional for Naval Headquarters, Ottawa ON as General Superintendent of Radiotelegraphs for the RCN. In 1920 he served in HMCS Niobe as Additional (for disciplinary purposes only - commission to be withdrawn and cancelled and discharged from books 1st April, 1920.) (He was demobilized 01/04/1920).
