Military Service
He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (Direct Entry) (CF) 1985. He served in HMCS Skeena for Sea Training in 1987. He served in HMCS Okanagan for Submarine Qualification in 1989. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (CF). He served in HMCS Keena 1987. He served in HMCS Okanagan 1988. He served in HMCS Saguenay as Navigating Officer in 1989. He served in HMCS Cormorant as Operations and Navigating Officer 1990. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (N) (MARS). He served in CFB Toronto for Command and Staff course 26 and the National Security Studies Programme 10 (Canadian Forces College). In 1991 he served as an AdC to the Governor General. He served in NCSM Ville de Quebec for Operation Forward Action (UN Haiti) 1994. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (MARS). He served as Commander Canadian Fleet (Pacific) 2010-2012. He was promoted to Rear-Admiral (RCN) in 2012. In 2012 he was appointed to NDHQ in Canadian Expeditionary Force Command.
