He served as Professor Emeritus - Theory of Science and Research - University of Gothenburg, Sweden and President - European Association of Science and Technology Studies. Author of numerous books and scientific articles.

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 08/01/1957). He served in HMCS Prevost for UNTD 1956-1957. (He was released.)
