His home was in Montreal (student, McGill University). He obtained ACA Certificate No.31 (hydroplanes) at Thomas School, 18 August 1915; (President, Southam Company);
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS (With seniority dated 27/10/1915) in Ottawa ON. He trained at RNAS Eastbourne and RNAS Calshot. He was appointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS (With seniority dated 27/10/1915). He served in RNAS Calshot 1916. He served in RNAS Dover Seaplane Base 1916. He served in RNAS Dunkirk 1916. He was appointed as a Flight Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS (With seniority dated 01/04/1917). He served in #4 (N) Wing RNAS 1917. He was appointed as a Flight Commander RNAS 1917.He was wounded 24/09/1917. (Transferred to RAF), He was appointed as a Group Captain RAF. (He was demobilized.)
