He was a fisherman at the time of his recruitment into the navy.

Ordinary Seaman RNCVR. (He was demobilized). He was appointed as an Able-Seaman RCNR. He served in HMCS Skeena 1941. (He was missing presumed killed on 04/02/1941 while serving in HMCS Skeena.)
