After his naval service he worked in civil aviation after the war as Regional Superintendent Air Regulations (Flight Safety) Montréal PQ 1955. International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) 1959. Served as Chief of Mission to Guinea and then to the ex-Belgian Congo 1960-1962. While in Africa he was UN Representative on the Rhodesian Board of Inquiry into the "Hammarskjold aircraft incident". ICAO as Chief of Technical Assistance Mission to Chile 1969. |

He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR 1940. He served in H.M.S. Raleigh (Officer Training Establishment) 1940. He served in H.M.S. Drake 1940. He served in H.M.S. St. Vincent in #23 Pilot Course for Aviation Ground School 1941. He served in RAF Luton for Elementary Flying Training School. He served in RCAF Kingston for Service Flying Training School. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (P) (Temp.) RCNVR. He served in RNAS Crail for Operational Training. He served in RNAS Arbroath for Deck Landing Training 1942. He served in RAF Hinstock for Instrument Flying Course. He served in RNAS Machrihanish for Operational Night Flying Course. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 08/11/1942 later backdated to 1941). He served in H.M.S. Indomitable for 817 TBR Squadron (Albacore/Barracuda) 1942. He served in USNAS Roosevelt Field for Aircraft Ferrying, RN/RAF/USCG Station Floyd Bennett Field for Helicopter Training. He served in RNAS Donibristle as Test Pilot 1944.
