He was appointed as a Naval Cadet RCN 1953. In 1953 he served in HMCS Royal Roads for 1953. In 1954 he served with the UNTD for Summer Training. He graduated from Royal Roads in Spring 1955, with the intent of going into the army (RCAC) and then went on to complete Royal Military College of Canada. He was appointed as a Captain (RCAC). He was appointed as a Major (RCAC). He was appointed as a Lieutenant Colonel (CF). He was appointed as a Colonel (CF). He took his Regiment on an operational tour with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus in 1972. He was appointed as a Brigadier General. He was appointed as a Major General. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-General (CF). In 1986 he served as Commander Mobile Command (Head of the Army). He was appointed as Colonel Commandant - Royal Canadian Artillery Corps. He was appointed as Colonel Commandant of Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians) - Armoured Regiment. (He was released.) |
