He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 19/01/1951). He served in HMCS York for UNTD 1950-1951. (He was released.)He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (S) RCN. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (S) RCN (With seniority dated 01/03/1956). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/03/1964). He served in HMCS Stadacona on Staff of Flag Officer Atlantic Coast. (He was released.)
