Military Service
He was appointed as an Officer Cadet RCN(R). He served in HMCS Carleton. He was appointed as a Midshipman RCN(R). He served in HMCS Carleton for VC-921 Reserve Squadron 1955. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (P) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 13/02/1955). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (P) RCN(R). (On August 27, 1957 Julian George Freeman was killed in a runway collision at HMCS Shearwater. Three Avengers taxied into position for take off at Shearwater when a Banshee flown by Lt (USN) Ed Tryeinski landed on top of Julian’s Avenger killing both pilots.)
