He attended McGill University.

 

Military Service

He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (COTC McGill University). (Transferred to RCNVR). He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCNVR (With seniority dated 17/03/1943). (CFR) He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 02/03/1943 later backdated to 1942). In 1943 he served in NSHQ. He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 15/03/1944). In 1944 he served in HMCS Calgary. (He was demobilized 17/07/1945.) He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 22/11/1945). (He was retired.)
