Biography
After his naval service he went into the family steel business. He spent 25 years in the securities business and established a shareholder communications business in 1987 and sold it in 1990 to Automatic Data Processing Inc.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet RCN (With seniority dated 29/08/1944). He served in the Royal Roads (RCNC) (Cadet Captain) 19451-1947. (Transferred to RCN(R)), He was appointed as a Midshipman RCN(R) (With seniority dated 03/07/1947). He served in HMCS Star 1947. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (with seniority dated 03/07/1948). In 1948 he served in HMCS Star. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R), (Short Service Appointment commenced 24/04/1950), He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 24/04/1950). He served in RCAF Centralia for Initial Flight Training School 1950. He served in RNAS Lossiemouth 1950. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (P) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 21/04/1950). He served in RNAS Eglinton for OFS 1951. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 24/04/1951). He served in HMCS Magnificent for 871 Squadron, University of Edmonton as Staff Officer UNTD 1954. He served in Royal Roads (Canadian Services College) For Duty With Cadet Training Establishment 1955. He served at Queen's University as Staff Officer UNTD. (He resigned.)
