Biography
After his naval service he attended Queens University for a Teaching degree. He taught school at Bracebridge ON.

He was appointed as an A/Leading Aircraftman RNVR 30/10/1943. He served in RCAF St. Eugene ON for #13 EFTS for Elementary Flight Training 1943. He served in RCAF Kingston ON for #31 Service Flying Training School 1944. He was Awarded Wings 16/06/1944. He was appointed as an A/Petty Officer Pilot RNVR (With seniority dated 16/06/1944). (Qualified as a pilot for naval aviation. He survived the ditching of an Avenger 14/11/1952 and another 20/03/1956.)
