He was living in Calgary at the time of his recruitment into the navy.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as an Officer Cadet RCN 1949. He served in Royal Roads Military College (HMCS Malahat) under UNTD Plan 1949-1951. (Transferred to RCN(R)). He was appointed as a Midshipman RCN(R) (With seniority dated 11/09/1950).(He was released.)
