He graduated with a BA U Manitoba Spring 1954. He was qualified as a lawyer. He was Assistant Professor, Manitoba Law School (U. of M.) - 1959-1964. He was Associate Professor, Manitoba Law School (U. of M.) - 1964-1968. He was He was Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Manitoba - 1968-1991. He was Belzberg Professor of Constitutional Studies, University of Alberta - 1988-1991. He was He was Bowker Professor of Law, University of Alberta - 1991-1993. He was Belzberg Fellow of Constitutional Studies, Faculty of Law, University of Alberta - 1993-2001.
