Biography
In his civilian life he states that" I joined an investment firm in Toronto where I spent 17 years – in Toronto, Montreal and New York. Then, in 1970 I was asked to join the International Finance Corporation, an affiliate of the World Bank, in turn an affiliate of the United Nations. After 17 years there, I returned to the investment banking world until I retired in 1991."
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Midshipman RCNVR. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR. He served in H.M.S. Goshawk (Piarco Trinidad) for Observer Training. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (O) (Temp.) RCNVR. He served HMCS Warrior for in 825 Squadron. He served in 826 Squadron. (He transferred to RCN 1946). (Transferred to RCN(R)). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (O) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 06/01/1947). He served in HMCS Magnificent. He served in HMCS Bonaventure. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (O) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 15/01/1955). He served in HMCS York for VC-920 Reserve Squadron 1953-1958. (He was retired.) (He was qualified as an Air Observer);
