In the spring of 1944 he graduated U of T in Mathematics & Physics (Radio) with the intention of joining the Navy on active service. He spent most of his life in the US. |

Bill Clearihue reports: "His father was a Prof at U of T and was rounded up and detained for a while during the Italian Internments here in the early 40s. He had been flagged as a Facist sympathizer. Both Ernie and his older brother Alfred (died in 1999) have done quite well and have given back to the academic communities, both in California and Toronto." |
