Biography
After his naval service he was the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Minister of Fisheries. He was the Treasurer of a trust company and then he was the Executive Assistant to the Premier of Ontario, and Vice-President (Administration) to the Federation of Colleges and Universities.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Private (Canadian Army) 1939. He served in Edmonton Fusiliers 1939. He served in 49th Battalion Irish Regiment of Canada. He served in the 4th Casualty Clearing Unit. He served in the 17th Hygiene Unit. (Transferred to RCNVR (With seniority dated 06/04/1942). He was appointed as a Writer RCNVR (With seniority dated 06/04/1942). He served in HMCS York 1942. He served in HMCS Charlottetown as Writer. (CFR). Probationary Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR. He served in HMCS Kings (Officer Training Establishment). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 10/08/1942). He served in HMCS Avalon on Staff of Naval Officer-in-Charge Staff Operations (Extended Defence). He served in H.M.S. Churchill for Signals. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (Temp.) RCNVR 10/08/1943). He served in RCAF Victoriaville PQ for ITS. He served in RCAF St. Eugene ON for Elementary Flying Training School 1944. He served in RCAF Kingston for #31 Service Flying Training School 1944. He served in RCAF Gananoque for #1 RLG (Bombing and Gunnery. He was Awarded Wings 16/02/1945. He served in RNAS Tealing for #9 Advanced Flying Unit 1945. He served in RNAS Hinstock for #111 Instrument Flying Course 1945. He served in RNAS Zeale for 750 RN Squadron 1945. He served in H.M.S. Heron for 759 RN Squadron 1945. He served in HMCS Shearwater as Signals Officer 1945. (He was demobilized 06/09/1946). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (P) RCN® (Promoted on the Retired List with seniority dated 10/08/1951)
