He was a graduate of the Stinson Flying School San Antonio TX USA.

He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS (With seniority dated 1915). He was appointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS. He served in RNAS Kalafrana (Malta). He was appointed as a Flight Lieutenant RNAS.
