Biography
He was living in Saskatoon SK at the time of his recruitment into the navy. graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a B. Comm. He worked in in Montreal for two years, working with Bell Telephone in the Traffic Division. In 1966 John joined the Federal Government – Industry, Trade and Commerce (the predecessor to Foreign Affairs) – as a Trade Commissioner. His career over 36 years took him to Philadelphia, Mexico City, Santiago (Chile), Melbourne, Edmonton, Bucharest (Romania), Copenhagen, Saskatoon and Guadalajara. He retired in 2002 when he and his wife Judie moved to Moncton.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1959. In 1959 he served in HMCS Unicorn for UNTD. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/07/1964). (He was released.)
