He graduated in Medicine form UBC in 1958. He was a Professor Emeritus - Dept of Family Practice - Faculty of Medicine - UBC.

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 02/01/1951). He served in HMCS Discovery for UNTD 1950-1951. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/05/1954). (He was released.)
