He was appointed as a Naval Airman 2/c RNVR (With seniority dated 15/05/1943). He served in H.M.S. Manx Maid for Sea Training 1943. He served in H.M.S. St. Vincent for #56 Pilot Training Course. He was appointed as an A/Leading Airman RNVR 30/10/1943. He served in USNAS Grosse Ile MI for Primary Flying Training 1943. He served in USNAS St. Louis for Flying Training 1943. He served in USNAS Saufley Field for Flying Training 1944. He served in USNAS Whiting Field for Instrument Flying Training 1944. (CFR). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RNVR (With seniority dated 02/07/1944). He served in USNAS Corry Field for Advanced Flying Training 1944. He was Awarded Wings 03/10/1944. He served in USNAS Jacksonville for Operational Flying Training 1944. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RNVR. (He was demobilized.)
