After his naval service he was a research scientist, (Entomologist) with the Government of Canada, based at the University of New Brunswick at Fredericton, New Brunswick after attending McGill University and UNB for graduate work. As a research scientist, the female moth of the Spruce Budworm was his life long research focus. He was always flying at night in the summer months to collect data etc. |

He served in RNAS Eglinton for 1851 RN Squadron 1945. He served in H.M.S. Venerable for 1851 RN Squadron 1945. He served in H.M.S. Vengeance for 1851 RN Squadron 1946. (He was demobilized.) |
