He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RNVR. He served in H.M.S. St. Vincent for #66 Pilot Training Course, #13 Elementary Flying Training School, #31 Service Flying Training School. (He was Awarded Wings.) (He was demobilized.)
