He attended McGill University.

 

Military Service

He was appointed as a Probationary Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR 1942. In 1942 he served at HMCS Kings (Officer Training Establishment). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 28/02/1943 later backdated to 12/10/1942). He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant RCNVR (With seniority dated 15/01/1944). In 1944 he served in HMCS Chatham. He served at H.M.S. Goshawk (Piarco Trinidad) for Observer Training. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (O) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 12/10/1943). (He was demobilized.) (He was qualified as an air observer.)
