He was appointed as a Stoker 2/c (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCNVR (With seniority dated 01/04/1943). In 1943 he served in HMCS York for UNTD. He was appointed as a A/Engine Room Artificer 5/c (UNTD) RCNVR. He served in HMCS Galt for North Atlantic Service. (CFR 1943). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 01/04/1945). (Transferred to RCN). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (L) RCN 01/09/1945). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (L) RCN (With seniority dated 23/11/1945). He served in HMC Dockyard (Halifax) on Staff of Manager Electrical Engineering 1945. He served on the Long Communications Course 1946. He served in NHQ on Staff of Electrical Engineer-in-Chief 1947. He served in HMCS Athabaskan as Electrical Officer (Korean War service) 1950. He served in HMCS Stadacona as Instructor at Electrical School 1951. He served on Staff of Flag Officer Atlantic Coast as Assistant Command Electrical Officer 1952. He served in HMCS Cornwallis as Long Communications Course Officer on Communications School Staff 1953.
