Biography
After his naval service he joined Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as Test Pilot 1966. Joined Canadair as Test Pilot 1968. Worked with Department of Transport as Certification Test Pilot on certification programs in Canada, USA, Ireland, Britain, Poland, Italy, France, Finland 1970. Seconded to NASA Ames Research Centre as Research Test Pilot for Augmentor Wing Research Aircraft 1972. Retired from Department of Transport 01/04/1986. He was th fourth naval officer to be elected to the Aviation Hall of Fame (Edmonton). Awarded Companion in the Order of Flight (Edmonton). He was the winner of the Trans-Canada (McKee) Trophy in 1988. Fellow of the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute 1989.

He was appointed as a AC 2/c (Pilot Candidate) RCAF (With seniority dated 22/06/1940). He served in RCAF Fort William for Flying Training 1940. He served in RCAF Ottawa for Flying Training 1940. He was Awarded Wings 06/12/1940, Sergeant Pilot RCAF 06/12/1940. (CFR). Pilot Officer RCAF 04/15/1942, Instructional Duties 1941-4. He served in RCAF Trenton for IFR Training 1945, Demobilized 01/04/1946, (Transferred to RCNR 19/08/1952). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) RCN(R) 19/08/1952, (With seniority dated 05/07/1949). He served in HMCS Star 1952. He served in HMCS Shearwater for #1 Training Air Group for Training 1952, (Transferred to RCN). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (L) RCN (With seniority dated 05/07/1949). He served in HMCS Shearwater for VU-32 Squadron 1952. He served in HMCS Niagara for Training With USN 1952, NADC Johnsville PA USA, NATC Patuxent River MD, FAETULANT Norfolk VA USA. He served in HMCS Shearwater for VU-32 Squadron as Electrical Officer and Pilot 1954. He served in HMCS Niobe for Training at RAF Farnborough in Empire Test Pilots Course 1955, RAF Farnborough for Experimental Flying Department 1956. He served in HMCS Shearwater For Duty With VX-10 Squadron as Project Electrical Officer and Test Pilot 1956. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (L) (P) RCN 05/07/1957. He served in HMCS Niobe For Training With RN 1959. He served in HMCS Shearwater for VX-10 Squadron for FSTT 1960. He served in HMCS Shearwater for VX-10 Squadron as Executive Officer 1961, Sikorsky Aircraft (BUAER) for SH-3A Training and Acceptance Testing. He served in USNAS Ream Field for HS-10 USN Squadron for Training 1963. He served in HMCS Hochelaga as NATO Liaison Officer at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft for CHSS-2 Program 1964. (He was retired 1966.
