He was a teacher at the time of his recruitment into the navy.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Wireless Telegraph Operator (4th Class) RNCVR (With seniority dated 01/09/1917). In 1918 he served in HMCS Lady Evelyn (Auxiliary Patrol Ship) as Wireless Telegraph Operator. (He was demobilized.)
