He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (S) (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 15/01/1950). He served in HMCS Unicorn for UNTD 1949-1951. H ewas appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (With seniority dated 01/05/1952). In 1952 he served in HMCS Unicorn. (He was released.)
