He Commanded a squadron carrying 4,000 settlers with Colonel HMCS Cornwallis as Governor to found Halifax Nova Scotia in 1749. He was elected as the MP for Portsmouth in 1747. He as created Baron Hawke of Great Britain in 1776. |
