Military Service

(Short Service Appointment 11/01/1954). He was appointed as a Midshipman (Air) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 11/01/1954). In 1954 he served in HMCS Cornwallis for Junior Aviation Officer Course. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 25/01/1956). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (P) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 25/01/1956). He served in HMCS Shearwater for Duty With VT-40 Squadron for Avenger Conversion 1957. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 10/07/1957). He served in HMCS Bonaventure for VS-880 Squadron 1959, (Selected for permanent commission). He served in HMCS Shearwater for HS-50 Squadron as Operational Pilot 1965. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/07/1967). (He was released.)
