After is naval service he worked in the printing and graphics business at Vancouver BC.

He served in HMCS Kings (Officer Training Establishment) 1943. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 01/06/1943). He served in RCAF Goderich for Flying Training 1943. He served in RCAF Aylmer ON for Service Flight Training School 1944. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 15/02/1944). He served in H.M.S. Phoenix (Bitter Lakes Egypt) for 896 Squadron 1944. He served in H.M.S. Assagai (Durban SA) for 896 Squadron 1944. He served in H.M.S.
