He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (S) (UNTD) (RCN(R)) (With seniority dated 19/10/1949). He served in HMCS Star for UNTD 1947. He served in HMCS Discovery for UNTD 1951. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (S) RCN(R). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated01/07/1953). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/07/1961). In 1965 he served in HMCS York. (He was released.)
