After his Second World War service he trained as a pharmacist.

He served in the RCAF for Pilot Training. (Transferred to the RNVR for Flying Training). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (A) RNVR. (He had Second World War service and was demobilized.) He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (SB) RCN. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (SB) RCN. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (SB) RCN (With seniority dated 27/07/1950). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (MT) RCN (With seniority dated 27/07/1950). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (MT) RCN (With seniority dated 27/07/1958). He served For Duty With Medical Supply Depot Debert NS 1962. (He was released.)
