Biography
After his naval service he was the Executive Director of the Victoria Branch of the Canadian Red Cross Society.

He was appointed as a Probationary Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 21/11/1941). He served in HMCS Kings (Officer Training Establishment) 1942. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 10/11/1941). He served in HMCS Kelowna. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 11/1942). He served in HMC LCI (L)-262 (In command) in the 262nd Canadian LCI Flotilla for Operation Neptune 1944. (Transferred to RCN(R)). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) 1949. Anecdotes
He was awarded the Chief of the Naval Staff Commendation for his part in rescuing 35 survivors from the sinking tanker Amphialos while serving in HMCS Athabaskan.
