Biography
From 1959 to 1985 Hirtle worked full time at the high school as a teacher, vice principal and later principal at Bridgetown High School.

 

Military Service
He had Second World War service as a shipwright RCNVR. (CFR) He was appointed as a naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1948. In 1948 he served in HMCS Scotian for UNTD. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 06/02/1950). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 06/02/1952). (He was released.)
